Let’s face it, understanding how to become a competitive college applicant in the USA can be a challenging and confusing task. It can also be a time consuming process.

The college admission consulting marketplace especially in the United States can be a crowded and confusing environment. At CEF, we will provide you with information to help research the schools and meet the admission requirements as an international student. The core process is below for reference.

Our Approach

Individual Counseling

  1. Each interested student fills an online registration from that introduces the student and includes their grades, the major and minor they want to study, the states they prefer to live in, list of colleges they are interested to apply to, and their resume.

  2. Provide 1-on-1 FREE counseling session with student and parent.

  3. Provides the student with a full step-by-step counseling plan with the details needed to apply and guides them through the full application process.

  4. Assists student in exploring financial aid and scholarship options.

 Timeline

This college application will help students plan out 18 months leading up to studying in the USA. Students can also download the complete college application checklist to have on hand for each college they are interested in.

18 Months Before Arriving in the United States

  • Research various college and university programs

  • Register and prepare for required entrance exams

  • Keep working hard in school

  • Consider receiving admissions counseling guidance from an educational consulting company such as the Coptic Educational Foundation (CEF)

12-14 Months Before Arriving in the United States

  • Choose the schools to which you will apply

  • Obtain all necessary information and forms for each school

  • Prepare for and take all required exams

10 Months Before Arriving in the United States

  • Retake entrance exams if scores were unsatisfactory

  • Line up all required financing

  • Complete and submit all college applications

3 Months Before Arriving in the United States

  • Apply for your student visa

  • Research health insurance options for your time abroad

  • Make travel arrangements for when you arrive in the U.S.

1 Month Before Arriving in the United States

  • Student will receive the CEF A-Z College Admission Program Booklet that fully describes the application process for each college and all the associated admissions requirements. This booklet includes the timeline to apply to each college.

Perfect Your Personal Statement or Essay

  • Student will create a final draft of their personal statements ass required by various colleges.

Explore Financial Aid and Scholarship Options

  • Student will receive a list of scholarships to apply to in order to help payoff/offset the tuition and living expenses.
